Jarno Pinola completed his Master Thesis on “Mobility management in next generation wireless metropolitan area networks”
Jarno’s thesis reviews WiMAX and HSPA, with an emphasis on mobility management aspects and the technologies’ respective capabilities to support multimedia traffic. The thesis includes relevant measurement results from the WiMAX testbed at the VTT Converging Networks Laboratory. The thesis also overviews several MIP variants. MIPv6 handover latencies are empirically evaluated in the same testbed.
